AC Shadows Introduces Bizarre Attack on Titan Event for Thanksgiving

In a bizarre partnership that defies conventional forecasts, Ubisoft has revealed an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.

Strange Questline Revealed

According to the official release, "A mysterious meeting leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where rumors of banned practices and fearsome metamorphoses echo through the shadows." The storyline introduces a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a clandestine sect.

The questline centers on "bizarre trials and a terrifying foe" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Iconic Locations and Metamorphoses

The trailer features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer ends with a powerful moment showing a character, probably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Items and Additional Features

Players who successfully complete the quest will receive an special katana in addition to several items secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

• Mikasa costume for Naoe
• Special implements
• Survey Corps mount

Third Free Story Addition

This patch also brings the game's third complimentary story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic skills: Naoe debuts a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This represents not the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with popular anime franchises. The series earlier included a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Additionally, Valhalla subtly included a quest that unmistakably nodded to the well-known series One-Punch Man.
